American Pickers Mike Wolfe to step down after revealing 'fantastic' new project

Mike Wolf, host of the television show American Pickers, has provided viewers with a significant update on his next project despite growing rumors that he is finished with American Pickers. In the earlier part of this month, Mike disclosed that he is currently in the process of modernizing an old petrol station located in Columbia, Tennessee. The star of American Pickers, who is 59 years old, went on Instagram to provide followers with a fresh update on the endeavor by releasing photographs and a video about it.

The first two photographs depicted construction workers slaving away at their jobs, planting trees delivered to the site. Mike also posted a video in which multiple workers concentrated their attention on a single tree and attempted to stabilize it by laying pebbles and dirt underneath it.

The reality personality stated in the caption, “The trees have finally arrived for the 1940s ESO station downtown at Visit Columbia TN.” While posting an image of the station on Instagram, he stated, “This project is about building a cool community gathering space in addition to preserving the history of transportation within the historic district. This space will be developed into a courtyard for future generations to enjoy.”

In closing, Mike expressed his gratitude to the landscaping company Money Design and the Living EXO crew for all of their hard work. A couple of weeks ago, the star of the History Channel debuted his new endeavor for the first time by sharing photographs of the petrol station online.

The photographs revealed a gated fence enclosing the construction area as well as unpaved ground. The property where the development would take place is located close to the TV personality’s full-service petrol station, Columbia Motor Alley. Mike had written the following in the post at the time: “1940s ESO station project downtown is in full swing. This will be a courtyard and green space right in the heart of the historic district around the corner from Columbia Motor Alley.” He further stated, “These early petrol stations, service garages, and car dealerships anchor the story of American transportation history.”

One follower said in the comment section that the project is looking good, while another revealed that they were excited to see the finished work.

Being kept occupied, Mike has increased his involvement in projects such as repairing a house and working to increase the number of customers who visit his Antique Archaeology business—all while American Pickers continues to struggle with low ratings. People close to Mike claim that the celebrity has been forthright regarding the future of the long-running program, accepting the possibility that the end of the series is nearing.

A buddy of Mike’s gave an exclusive interview to The United States Sun in September, saying, “I don’t know how long the program will survive. I have no idea how much longer Mike and Robbie plan to continue doing this. My guess is that they would enjoy retiring at some point in the future. It’s been a whole dozen years.”

Mike, along with his brother Robbie and Danielle Colby, is currently a co-host on the show American Pickers. The confidential source went on to say, “It puts a strain on your life. They have been doing this for a very long time. When they are around, it seems like, ah, we’re back on the road—but in a good way. I don’t have time to do this and I don’t have time to do that. I kept telling myself it’s a love-hate relationship just like with any other job. It’s true that there are times when you don’t wish you had that job and could just do whatever you pleased.”

Mike’s acquaintance came to the conclusion that “some days you’re all excited about your job.” The show is now on a break as they shoot new episodes, but it will return soon.
