Captain Wild Bill headed out to the open waters after cancer diagnosis

Captain Wild Bill was told he has prostate cancer by a doctor, as seen on Deadliest Catch. He is now undergoing treatment for the next six to eight months, following the news.

The star has been very open about his cancer journey since the start. He allowed cameras to document the moment he received his first diagnosis, sparking concern in viewers.

He headed out to sea after finding out, which saw doctors look at him “like he’s lost his mind,” despite being told his health conditions are currently “life-threatening”.

Dr. David Marshall of Radiation Oncology and Muscular Health said the volume of the mass had enlarged to “medium size” after the captain had only just admitted he felt “nervous to see the test results”.

He thanks his daughter for ‘putting up with a lot’

Bill has thanked his daughter for “keeping him inline,” as he navigates this tough battle.

He wrote on July 11: “Put up with a lot last few months,” and posted a photo of them smiling together while having a couple of drinks, the picture racked up 9K likes.

It comes almost a year after doctors told Bill they “really need to combine radiation with the hormone therapy.” His daughter, Delia, is now being his ultimate support during his journey.

The captain supports non-profit projects including Wounded Warriors and breast cancer charities. He is also a father to two sons, Zack and Jake, to which Zack works as a greenhorn on the Summer Bay.

Since the public found out about his health matters, he’s been open about enjoying life. The captain has attended parties, returned to Mex House, and spent time with his loved ones.

He is also believed to have returned to filming Deadliest Catch earlier this year, according to long-time viewers, and even just sold his 72 Blazer for a whopping $330,000.
