Alright guys, so we do have to get into this because this is a big freaking deal. I mean, Julie Chrisley’s 7-year prison sentence is tossed out for fraud and tax evasion, and an appeals court has ordered new sentencing. Thank you to Reality Blurb.

Years after Todd and Julie were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion, a three-judge panel of the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals has determined that the original judge on the case miscalculated the 7-year prison term Julie was dealt. Now, following their sentencing in 2022, Todd’s 12-year sentence was upheld, but when it came to the prison time Julie was ordered to serve, it was decided that there was a lack of sufficient evidence to back up her seven-year term.

After the Friday, June 21st hearing, where the judges also upheld the conviction of accountant Peter Tarantino, People Magazine obtained the judge’s ruling which suggested that Julie was not involved in any crimes until 2007. There was no specific evidence showing that she was involved in 2006. The judge decided, “The problem is that we have not located the evidence the District Court relied on in adopting that finding. Our review of the record hasn’t revealed evidence to show, even by a preponderance of the evidence, that Julie was involved in 2006. Indeed, the government’s brief concedes that the evidence shows Julie participated in the bank fraud conspiracy from 2007, not 2006.”

As for what’s next, Julie’s case will be heard in a lower court where a judge will determine how much time behind bars she should actually spend. “We’re pleased that the court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal,” that’s what Todd and Julie’s family attorney Alex Little said in a statement to People after the ruling.

So, Todd’s appeal was rejected, but Julie might be out with this step behind us. We can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case. The family appreciates the continued support that they’ve received throughout the process and they’re hopeful for more good news in the future.

I mean, now guys, this is kind of insane. Savannah Chrisley also released a statement, but I just want to say this really quick. I know Savannah Chrisley released a statement and everybody’s wondering what’s gonna happen to Todd and Julie. Well, Todd and Julie did have combined 19 years in prison, but if they’re denying Todd an appeal, okay, that sucks for him because that means as of right now you are going to continue to serve your time and then shave off a little as you go, just a little by little by little. But if his wife’s out, at least then he knows, okay, well my wife is out of prison, so then I can maybe begin to worry less about my kids knowing that she can be there to help out.

Plus, she’s going to start filming something. They will get a show, the cameras will come back up. I think that the only thing that he’d probably worry about is over the next eight or nine years that he has left, even though he’s only been away for like, I think one and a half, he’s not going to serve 12, he’ll probably serve like nine or 10. But even over the next few years, if she gets released, will she be there waiting or will she pick up her life and continue on and move on? And anybody would wonder that. You know, like I’m in prison, my husband’s out for the next 12 years, like I’m going to be in prison and he’s not going to be with me. Do I sit there and like stress and say like, please do not leave me? Or, you know, like what?

I just understand that at some point he might end up going and finding somebody new because that’s how, I just don’t understand how you could not. And Todd was the one who really, I think in this situation ultimately put them in this position. And I know that they both loved to spend the money, they both loved the lavish lifestyle, they loved the luxuries of it all, so they’re both guilty in that sense. But it’s kind of like Teresa and Joe Giudice, like Teresa signed documents that Joe said to sign. Apparently that’s what happened, Teresa got out and Joe still had to serve prison time and she was pissed and she was like, you know, I’m not waiting around for this. I know that she had her mom involved where her mom unfortunately passed away and she was upset that she lost a lot of time with her and she blamed Joe Giudice for that.

But I don’t know if, I don’t know if she would have stayed regardless, and I don’t know about Julie Chrisley. But hold on, hold on, keeps going.

So, Savannah Chrisley did decide to also release a statement. They didn’t necessarily go as we hoped, but we do have a little win. What the ruling means is that the appeals court could not find any evidence that attributed the $17 million loss amount to my mother, and for that I am grateful and I hope and pray that the judge can send her home. Then as she read a portion of the opinion, she added a lengthier caption. “After careful consi
