Bradford Davis is remembered as the greenhorn on Deadliest Catch season 1. He worked on the F/V Northwestern but soon disappeared to take on a new career and tie the knot with his wife.

Many long-time Deadliest Catch fans have been asking for Bradford Davis since his show exit. He only featured in The Greenhorn episode in season 1, but made for quite the memorable appearance.

Bradford Davis joined Deadliest Catch at 19

Bradford Davis was just 19 when he joined Deadliest Catch as a college student. He was on the search for a job in fishing, and told cameras he planned to “keep my head on straight and come back alive”.

He signed up to work on the Northwestern at the time, a family-run boat that goes back generations. Sig Hansen was the captain – and still is today – at the time, but his handshake needed to be earned.

Davis joined in season 1 for the October crab fishing season. He ground and bagged almost a ton of bait fish in a day, but his work was far from over. The greenhorn was later given him a full deckhand share!

Ex-greenhorn takes on ‘dream career’

Bradford is now working as a firefighter in Honolulu, and has been fulfilling his “dream” since 2020. He always wondered what life would be like to be a firefighter when he was a teacher.

Don’t worry, though, as Bradford is still fishing as a hobby. In his Facebook bio, he writes, “Jesus, Family, Fitness, Fishing, Surfing,” and has been fishing since he was very young.

Before season 1, Davis worked on commercial fishing boats two summers. After the show, Bradford returned home to Long Beach, and has now gone on to build a career and family.

Davis tied the knot with his wife

Bradford is now married to his wife, Melanie Davis, who he shares two daughters and a son with. The family-of-five live together in Honolulu, Hawaii, having happily tied the knot back in 2011.

He reached out to Deadliest Catch fans to help with potentially winning a wedding on the BD Outdoors forum. The two celebrated a decade of marriage in 2021, “All by God’s strength, grace, mercy, and love.”

The two go fishing together – such as a snap of them proudly holding five trout each in 2009 – and also graduated by each other’s side back in the day. They both worked as teachers previously.

That’s interesting news about Bradford Davis from ‘Deadliest Catch’! It sounds like he’s found a way to balance his passion for fishing with a new career. Do you know what his new dream career is
